In recent years, fashion photography has become increasingly popular among collectors of photography. As the world’s largest fashion market, China’s fashion photographers are now exploring their own visual narratives – from the quirky and surreal to the sublime and nostalgia for classical aesthetics. What is the fashion photography landscape in China today? What are the future trends?
We curated an online VIP Talk for Photo London 2021, with three insiders sharing their insights and experiences on the fast-growing fashion photography sector in China – now and into the future.
Speakers include: Pooky Lee, a Shanghai-based fashion writer and curator; Tianwei Zhang, the London/China Editor at Women’s Wear Daily; and Yining He, an independent curator and writer of photographic art. The discussion was moderated by Lang Xiao, a cross-cultural communication specialist and art consultant, and founder of ARTouch Consulting.
